Santa Maria would be proud of it

I lived in Santa Maria for two years. Santa Barbara for 16. My father was a tri tip master. He would’ve loved your thick two-pounder. For a lean cut, yours is magnificently marbled. Dad would have been proud of the way I served it on July 4th. Marinaded it overnight in fridge. Served it medium rare edge to edge, the next afternoon. No leftovers on the fifth, obviously.

Tri Tip

This was a delicious cut of meat. You really don’t see sale in stores on the tri tip. I probably will never buy one in a grocery store if I did see one

Pure beef

Fired up my pellet grill and smoked my tri-tip, the taste and texture was good though I would marinate longer next time. Recommend trimming all fat off of this cut. Knowing that I’m eating clean beef is comforting and will be ordering more! HP
