Huge mic locker upgrade!

When the mic I’ve been successfully using for the past 20 years for VO started having issues, I tried using a few other mics. While they all have done an adequate job, something was missing. I have always wanted to ad a Neumann U87 to my studio, but just couldn’t justify the cost. Recently , I came across the DA 87SE. After some due diligence, I pulled the trigger. Is it the exact same microphone? No. But, out of the box, it sounds amazing. Make one or two small tweaks on the pre and it is so darn close that you really have a hard time hearing any difference from the original … for $3300 less! Until I get my CAD E-350 working again, this is by far the best mic in my locker.
