Wow.

I've used a real u87i and a Vintage u87, which is not exactly the same it's pretty close and similar. for the price you are getting an amazing microphone. you won't regret it, i liked it so much i might get their u87 clone.

Sick mic

Pretty much what I was expecting but also not. Was looking for a somewhat characterful condenser mic to round out my mic collection and this thing does great. Does a nice dirty character vocal if you lean right next to it and put it at an angle, and can also do cleaner vocals if you sing directly into it 6”-1’ away with a pop filter. Does an AMAZING job on percussion (which my OC818s seem to struggle with) but not so much overheads (which the OC818s excel) altho I need to mess around with mic placement more. I find the mic pairs really nicely with a 610 pre or clean pres. Haven’t been the biggest fan through 1073 style pres but never been a big U87->1073 fan anyways so is as expected. Does well on the acoustic instruments. A bit harsh on some of the guitar amps ive tried and gets a bit crunchy and overloaded next to the speaker cab at decent volumes (1 point for getting the full version of the mic). Overall though this thing rounds out my mic collection phenomenally
