Porter - simple, lightweight, and versatile!
I got the Porter 85 for family backpack trips and with the anticipation of future packrafting and overnight ski touring adventures. I took the Porter out for it's maiden voyage on a 3 day family backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. Our kids are still young, so my wife and I haul most of the group gear. For this trip I hauled much of our group gear and food and my own gear and the pack performed incredibly well at around 45 lbs, with a bulky load. I'll be excited to see how it will do with an even heavier load with ski or packrafting gear, but am confident it will be durable, spacious, and comfortable enough. It's definitely an upgrade over my prior 8.5 lbs backpack!
