X-Dome1+ Carbon / Regular Initial Thoughts
As with the Kakwa 55 Ultra 200X Pack I received I should really be writing my review after extensive in field testing, but it's springtime downunder, warm weather, warm drinking waters and warm blooded reptiles with fangs abound, so, as with the pack only a brief excursion nearby to shake this down in readiness for my ten day solo adventures. I've owned many tents, ones, twos and fours, this one is my favourite. It is lightweight, intuitive pitch, multiple guy and staking options, spacious, well thought out footprint shape, I love it. I did also grab a footprint for piece of mind. I left both the fly and footprint attached as all was dry and it was a breeze to set and pack up. As I was in a populated area for this trial I met two separate ol'timey hikers (walking dogs at the time) both hadn't heard of Durston, they do now, I felt like I was on the payroll showing them the features of this and that, they loved it, as do I. My excitement doesn't transfer from mind to page, I can't wait, everything ready to go for extended hikes with these two pieces of gear. Thanks Durston Gear.

My maiden voyage
My first experience with my new X-Dome 1+ a 1-week, 100-mile river trip by raft. I've generally taken bigger tents, but want the small package size for gear. I always use a ground cloth for my tents. With the X-Dome 1+ it is especially important. the bottom material is very thin (like the rest of the tent). Well, the cot that I've used for years wore through the tent bottom. I definitely want to keep the tent and am hoping Durston will be able to repair it.
