Aero 28 perfect

Honestly cant even tell it’s on my back fully loaded. Love the front pouch for water bottles. Works great! Actually like it better than my Salomon pack. Not a cheap pack but you truly get what you pay for! A ultra light pack for long multiple days in the backcountry. Also felt really good for a slower pace run in the mountains. Obviously a 28 liter will feel different than a normal 10 liter or less pack but dang it’s still pretty awesome for jogging❤️

Wanted to love this

I got this as an alternate to my Unbound 40. Since I'm doing smaller trips, and more ultra running than thru-hiking it seemed like a great way to have a lot of the benefits of a running vest, without losing volume for extra gear on self-supported fast packing long efforts. My main complaint is the side pockets are too high. The unbound finally fixed the problem of previous Hyperlite packs by making a pocket you could grab a bottle and put back without removing the pack. But this pack loses so many efficiency points by having the pocket just out of reach. having to remove the pack to grab my bottle and then remove it again to get it back off really makes drinking water feel like a chore. Does it have hydration bladder support? i guess. But the bladder just sits in the same pocket as everything else so it really just feels like they through in a loop and a slit on the pack to say you could put a bladder in it. Finally the top strap not being a Y strap makes it pretty useless. Once you start jogging, anything you have sinched down is probably going to slip out. It really feels like they put a lot of effort into the design of the vest but very little thought into the pack itself. Its comfortable and holds it close to the body which makes running with it feel fantastic. But the inefficiencies of the rest of the bag really take away from it. Maybe they'll get it right in V2, but for $350, this feels like its still a prototype.

Solid gear

I’d love another zippered pocket inside for keys and cards. Some padding on the waist belt would be great. If you are going to use it, might as well pad it. If not, detach it and the padding is gone. Finally, if you have sleeves for soft flasks, include the cords that all running vests use to hold them in place.
