SSL X-Delay is much more than an ordinary delay plugin.
Its real strength is creative control. Instead of simply repeating the signal, you can build rhythmic patterns, stereo movement, huge vocal effects and atmospheric soundscapes from a single plugin.
For modern pop, worship music, cinematic production, electronic music, rock and sound design, I would definitely keep X-Delay in the effects toolbox.

Very good quality delay plugin!
SSL X-Delay stands out from conventional delay plugins for being a 4-digital-delay machine with extra resources like filters, modulation and saturation, allowing extensive SFX explorations and very interessting results. The interface is very well designed. But could come with a more comprehensive and better categorized list of presets. Overall it's a nice, creative delay plugin!

SSL X‑Delay, a creative powerhouse that stays in my sessions.
SSL X‑Delay is one of those plugins that keeps finding its way back into my sessions. The four independent delay taps give me the flexibility I need: from tight, rhythmic delays on drums to wide, moving textures on pads and vocal one‑shots.
I really appreciate how quickly I can get to the right sound. The interface is clear, the BPM sync works flawlessly, and the built‑in SSL saturation and modulation add instant character without needing extra plugins. In my techno and psytrance productions, I often use it to create dub‑style, spatial echoes that give the track depth without muddying the mix.
In short: if you like creative, characterful delays that are both quick to use and deep enough to explore, X‑Delay is a no‑brainer. For me, it’s become a go‑to on almost any bus where I need space and movement
