Knob to adjust drag hard to turn

I got a 4wt. for my new Classic Trout rod. Reel was light weight. The store put 100 ft of backing which was a little too much. (Maybe use 90). The knob was hard to turn which surprised me. My other Remix wasn’t as hard to turn. Maybe it will improve with use. Over all I am pleased.

Replacement program reel

I traded in an old DCA-4 reel to get the Remix for half price. What a great program! Can’t wait to try it out this spring. I have a Liquid and two Guru II reels and love them. My rating is more for the program and the potential of the Remix.

Upgrade from a 30yr old DCA

My old DCA-4 was a workhorse reel. Originally purchased in the mid90s to meet a need for a planned salmon trip to the Miramichi, it had served me well - stripers, bluefish, shad, muskies, etc. A workhorse indeed...until the clutch failed and no replacement part was available. Rather than spend money to a 3rd party to rebuild the clutch I took advantage of Lamson's trade-in policy and upgraded to a REMIX. Sean and Customer Service were extremely helpful in facilitating the exchange/purchase. As to the reel itself, it's ready to go, both spools loaded. First test will be muskies. It's much lighter and more attractive than a DCA.... an upgrade. I'm sure its reliability will match my experience with my 1.5 Litespeed Hard Alox
