Throughout Asia, during the Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year, people welcome a change in season and what it brings: new beginnings. To honor that tradition, we created this tea blend inspired by Nian Gao, a delicacy made of caramel, sesame, and coconut enjoyed during the celebrations.

New Favorite Tea!
I originally bought the Year of the Horse gift set as a little something to help celebrate the Lunar New year. Little did I know that this delicate tea with the subtle hints of sweetness would become my favorite tea! I don't ever want to run out, so I bought 2 pounds of loose leaf to keep me going if (when?) it is discontinued.
The Year of the Horse tea has none of the bitterness some black teas get, and the toasted rice and coconut add complexity and gentle notes of sweetness that make it easy to drink without adding cream, sugar, or honey.

New Year's Delight!
This tea is a delightful blend! It's bold but also light, and it's not overly acidic. It has a calming, caramel and toasted flavor. Highly recommend!

FANTASTIC TEA FOR A NEW YEAR!
Crisp, deep breakfast tea that is strong enough to stand up to milk but is delicious as brewed. I enjoyed my first cup so much I ordered another pound of loose. A fantastic way to celebrate the lunar new year.
