Perfect Complement to Synapse 25

Preparing for a family trip to Spain, I was certain of two things at the outset: I didn’t want to check any bags, and my Synapse 25 was going to be insufficient on its own. I bought the Aeronaut 30 and stuffed it with my tripod, solar filter, two weeks’ worth of clothes, European travel adapters and cords for the family’s electronics, and an Eno DoubleNest hammock with hammock straps. The 3D organizers fit neatly in the side pockets, I used two packing cubes and one divided stiff sack in the main compartment, and the end pockets were convenient enough I was able to unzip them one-handed to stuff keys, wallet, phone and passport in at the last second before entering the security line. On five planes and through four airports, I had no trouble carrying the Aeronaut with the attached handles, and it fit handily into both plane and train overhead storage bins. In fact, while everyone else’s roller bags were forced to be checked at the gate (and at least two of them were lost during the transfers and delays), the gate attendants never even blinked at the duffel bag form factor. With my Synapse as my personal item and my Aeronaut as my carry-on, I was secure that I had everything I needed every step of the way, and the always reliably thoughtful organization of the compartments meant I never had to wonder where anything was. I don’t know why I waited so long to buy this bag except that, after ten years, my Synapse has yet to give me any indication of its age.

This pack is quite handy, yet underestimated its dimensions prior to arrival. It worked fine as part of a short trip with friend to California. Next time, plan to try the Techonaut for additional volume. Thank you Tom BIHN.

Perfect carryon

This bag is the perfect size for me for carry-on when paired up with a midsize personal item. I use it for 3 to 5 day trip trips. High-quality manufacturing and love the color.
