Top tier EDC
My EDC pack for the last 10 years has been one of three packs from Alpha One Niner and, most recently, a Goruck double-compartment Bullet. For me personally, that sets the bar pretty high when looking at a new pack. After 3 weeks of daily carry, the Toshi 20L has earned a spot with my favorites. Construction is solid, organization is just right for me and aesthetics are great. It carries really well and is very comfortable with my 13lb loadout. It’s too early to comment on durability, but I can’t imagine it would have any issues with normal, every day use. I’m very impressed with the Toshi so far. I also purchased the Toshi 5L sling and will be loading it up soon. It should make a very capable combo for EDC and short-term travel.

Satisfied
My previous work backpack was the Timbuk 2 Parkside (2019/2020). I first bought the AER City Pack Pro 2 24L and had to return it. I like AER, but I did not like the clamshell design of that one as filling the front pocket would cause the clamshell to fully open when the bag was standing upright. I like the fact that the Toshi clamshell compartment has a little catch at the corners. When the front pocket is filled, this catch keeps the compartment from fully opening when standing upright. I also prefer the fact that the laptop compartment can fit two, 16-inch laptops. My Timbuk 2 was great, but with the added requirement of a second work laptop, I was finding myself consistently trying to figure out a way to fit the second laptop in when traveling for work. The Timbuk 2 also doesn't have a strap for sliding over my luggage handle. Carrying 15-20 lbs just in electronics while walking around airports becomes a hassle pretty quickly. I have not yet had the chance to travel with the Toshi, but it seems like it will do the job. I also like all of the organizational pockets. I have not yet quite figured out where to put everything. This will only come through trial and error when I travel, figuring out the most convenient places to put my phones, keys, wallet, etc.

Excellent Design & Materials Great…
Absolutely love this backpack! Reminds me of the aer city pack pro 2. The Ykk zippers are silky smooth, the harness is incredibly comfortable, and the build quality feels truly premium. The quick-access pockets are perfect for my tech and sunglasses, and the laptop compartment is very easy to access—ideal luggage pass-thru for grabbing my laptop while waiting at the airport gate. The water bottle pockets are excellent too. Easily one of the best backpack I’ve ever owned!
