Great piece of equipment
Everything goes well. The buying, the shipping and the delivery. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to use the saw this winter. I expect to use it next year.

Not suitable for compression tests from an avalanche operations perspective
The blade has the propensity to curve during manufacturing?/shipment/packing and once that happens it is seemingly impossible to bend it back to be completely straight, rendering it useless for cutting straight lines/blocks in snow profiles for various compression tests. This was pointed out to me by one of my instructors on a Canadian Avalanche Association Operations course, as well as my Patrol Director/Forecaster. From an avalanche operations perspective, it should not be used. If you're a recreationalist and your snow profiles/compression tests aren't being held to an operations level standard, this saw may work just fine for you. It is lightweight and cuts through ice, haven't tested it on wood or bone yet. The sheath can be a bit "sticky".
