My husband works in a coal mine, he is very hard on every tool he uses. Hoping this writing tool holds up to the test. He was very happy with the weight and quality.

Solid Without Being Heavy

Just about perfect. Bolt engages and disengages very smoothly. Tip opening is machined perfectly for Pilot G2 tips with absolutely no wiggle. Balance is perfect. The longer Pilot size doesn’t feel back heavy or tip heavy at all. I think the weight distribution is remarkable; it makes writing with it for long stretches very easy. Everything about this pen is enjoyable to the touch, the annular grooves, the bolt button, the curve of the nose…. Maybe that’s the ‘Tactile’ part! If there’s anything that could be better, it’s that Energel refills wiggle, and an Energel nose cone would be a cool add-on option. Also, the front edge of the nose cone needed to have the sharp edge knocked down, took less than ten seconds on some diamond sharpening stones, but probably not something everyone has lying around. It was the only defect I noticed in an otherwise perfect pen!
