Perfect solo expedition tent
I’m just recently back from a solo attempt on the Upper West Rib of Denali and couldn’t be happier to report that the Slingfin WindSaber performed flawlessly in the harshest conditions the mountain could throw at it. It was a rough spring by any measure with bitter cold, high winds and a lot of snow. This tent handled it all and has become my favorite tent I’ve ever owned. Plenty of interior and exterior guy out points for peace of mind in gale force winds, the pole structure handled snow loads very well and the plethora of interior pockets helped me keep the interior organized. The tent designers clearly knew what they were doing and every feature is very well thought out. The vesitbules, while not over-large, are big enough to cook in if necessary and can be dug out for even more storage. I spent 16 nights alone in this tent and honestly can’t think of any design changes I would have made to improve it. It’s light, it’s packable and it’s bomb proof - Slingfin has created one of the best tents on the market hands down. Do yourself a favor and just buy it if you are even considering it - I can’t imagine you will find better.
