Crazy Lite & Crazy Expensive
I wanted to update my 40 pound Cabelas cot. It has been awesome to sleep on but crazy heavy and awkward to set up as I have aged. It was a perfect choice in my 40's. At 65, I was looking for something lighter. Helinox filled the bill but it is at the expense of cost. Their design is outstanding and very stable. I am using it with the extension legs. I have three of their chairs and love their gear. I will need to get some time on it to see how durable it is. When setting it up for the first time, getting the rails installed into the sleeves was very difficult. Not a surprise given my experience with other cot during their first setup. It's in the basement getting it stretched out right now. Make sure the lower supports look like a "W" vs a "U" to get the cross bar tensioning correct. I messed it up on the first pass. The assembly instructions could be more clear but the help line was awesome. I had a 20% discount when I bought this. Even with that, I think it is 2x of the high end of reasonableness. Tariffs? Will I return it, NO.

Quality and craftsmanship is stellar. But, the assembly of the cot proved to be annoying in the forest at night with a lantern light. The words “This Side Up” etched on the brace could barely be seen. When I got home, under better light I could see the words.
