Worth the coin.

Pretty cool little FM synth. I like the randomization because I’m chasing presets for a live show. I use this little gem to develop signals that I can then make into what I want via preset maker (by kitmaker) and we are off to the races. Worth the coin.

A Taste of FM: Halogen FM Is Fun But Leaves You with a craving

Halogen FM is an enjoyable little synth that sounds both lush and pristine. GForce has managed to give a taste of what FM synthesis can do with just two operators, a single LFO, and a great-sounding reverb. Ring and cross-modulation add extra character on top of this solid foundation. With a minimum of tweaking, you can get beautiful sounds, and the well-tuned (though, unfortunately, hardwired) macros can transform the sound instantly. This simplicity leaves you both satisfied and asking for more. I hope GForce will consider a more advanced "big brother" in the future—one for those who crave going deeper with a modulation matrix, freely assigned macros, and perhaps a wider choice of FX.
