Drivetrain might not be it.

I was really excited to get this bike since it seemed like the best bang for your buck on the market, but sadly I have been having lots of problems with the drive train. Since I first rode it, it was having problems with the chain skipping as I was trying to pedal hard and the chain coming off as I would hit a bump or a small jump. 3 trips to my local bike shop later and the chain doesn't come off any more but I still have this annoying chain skip. Currently waiting to hear back from primos for a solution.

I don't have much experience in cycling so I may not be the best for reviewing this product with regards to cycling knowledge but maybe I can provide the perspective of someone coming into gravel bikes completely fresh. I've tried my hand at cycling a couple times but didn't want to spend much in case I didn't enjoy it. After getting served an ad for Primos, I did a little research and decide to invest into a Dame. First off, I noticed that the product had the tendency to lose points immediately in other reviews due to QC imperfections during the shipping phase. I was lucky to not experience this personally, with the bike looking astonishing upon delivery, but the packaging is very light and could use a little more protective layers. Assembly was pretty straight forward but the manual I received was for the incorrect bike. This wasn't an issue at the end of the day but I would appreciate a little more attention during the packaging phase. Now that I've ridden the bike a couple of times, I can say that I'm having a pretty great experience with it so far. I've bought a Retrospec in the past to avoid spending a ton of money and the Dame has so far proven to be worth the investment. I don't have the historical knowledge to tell you whether the parts Primos used are great or not, all I can tell you is that I recently did a 25 mile ride and enjoyed every second of it. I'm excited to continue riding and dive further into cycling.

Couldn't be happier with my Dame

Fantastic value for the money. I had been looking for an entry - entry+ level gravel bike for that would meet my fairly needs (commuting, city rides, and bike trails) and grow with me (some single track and bike packing). Raven color looks even better in person. Love that they provide the tools for assembly - FYI - it does come with pedals. Made it to Pittsburgh in good shape - nothing bent or scraped. I did need to add recap to the cable ends (one was MIA, one was very loose and came off easily, and the other was frayed) but that is a very minor thing considering it came all the way across the country. Took it our for it's maiden spin last night with an ear to ear grin. That you Primos!
