Sonika (V2)

Excellent voicebank

I love Sonika! Im so grateful she's still avaliable for purchase, and the voiceback has a lovely sound that is perfect for what I want. I'm glad there is still piapro support, and while I know its not necessarily your call, I would love to hear about any compatibility with VOCALOID6. She still has a lot of fans, so I hope she stays up for a long time!

I like her!

I really like her tone of voice! I find that her soft(ish) voice is good for jazz related stuff - and she's really the only vocaloid I own who can tackle that decently - but after playing around with her more, she's good for other genres too (if I could describe my music genre to give an example, I would, but unfortunately I don't know how) She takes a bit more work to get sounding satisfactory than with Tonio, but I personally don't mind the work because it always pays off in the end. In the Vocaloid4 editor she has a bit of trouble with long notes with more than one syllable (I tried making her sing "apple" once for an older jazz song and she was like "aah- puh-puh-pull") but the easiest way to deal with that is either to type in phonemes manually or just having her not sing those words. In the Vocaloid2 editor, she has some funny engine noise problems (when I tried to replicate the way Doris Day was singing in a song, the "[ s ]" part sounded more like glitchy static than an [ s ]) but those are ultimately fixable in mixing and not super noticeable. All in all, she may not be for beginners, but she's got a pretty voice that works perfectly for me, despite all of its flaws. She became one of my favourites to work with within about a week of playing around with her.
