Red Catalyst Pedals

When I started riding seriously it was during the era of toe straps and slotted cleats. I was an early adopter of Look clipless pedals, and of SPDs. I have been riding studded flat pedals now for about 10 years. The Pedaling Innovations Catalyst pedals and the idea of riding with the pedal spindle under the arch of my foot has been a game changer for me. The comfort of having my feet supported with a wide pedal allows me to wear comfortable shoes. I like the convenience of not having to deal with hard soled shoes with cleats. Eighteen studs on each side of each pedal keep my shoes securely attached. I use these pedals on my mountain bikes and on my road bikes.

Riding about 200 miles with a short learning curve. These are installed on a trike.

Luv these pedals. I ride an XC bike for the gear ratio on concrete and asphalt hills of 15 - 25 % gradients. Having the full foot support really makes a difference when having to standup and grind. Perfect solution.
