I’M IN LOVE. I am somewhat of a beginner matcha drinker that’s still learning about different flavor profiles as well as my preferences but I know for a fact that Mellow will be one I keep on hand regularly. I first tried as an usucha and was smacked with a flavor that had me thinking “oh so THIS is umami.” The flavor lingered on my tongue and I knew that I would really enjoy it as a latte. It also frothed up very nicely and made a beautiful microfoam! I added it to 150mls of oat milk and once I stirred it, the umami flavor remained, but mellowed (no pun intended) out a little. I added less agave than I normally do because I wanted to taste as much of the matcha as possible, maybe a teaspoon. After doing that I also picked up some floral and vegetal notes. It was overall so delicious and creamy. I’m really happy I got to try some matcha from a small business that’s based in my city and will continue to support Mellow Matcha!
