Personally I prefer tying with UTC as my general purpose thread for my needs and it fits within my budget. I also can easily flatten it to reduce the bulk on the shank and rope it back up to tie off the fly with a whip finish.

Great thread, you can unwind it for a nice flat look, or cord it up for segmentation on a fly.
