Get 2 of them!
These microphones are fantastic. They have already replaced other more expensive mics. This is the 1st mic that I have to use the 10db pad as they are very sensitive. The pattern and high-pass functions make these very versatile. I use two of these mics recording a bluegrass band and the capsule captures the acoustic instruments beautifully. On vocals, they do very well. They compete with much more expensive mics. These mics and the DA84se have earned a permanent spot in my mic locker.

Great Mic!
The U87i is a fantastic mic for vocals and acoustic guitar. The warmth is unmatched, and the nuance in my voice that it picks up is something I’ve never quite experienced in the same way before. Get you one, you won’t regret it.

My new go-to
More airy, more transparent, more musical than the TLM103 I had previously been using for vocals. I could complain that threading it onto the shock mount requires a steady hand and a bit of patience, but now that it’s on the mount, and on the stand, I can’t imagine ever putting it away.
