I was expecting a boot similar to an earlier station variation of a wildland boot. This boot is nothing like the wildland boot an its arch is much less and overall its far below my expectation given my previous model from Nick's. Oh well... $600 down the drain.

Almost perfect
I’ve been working EMS for 27 years, currenly working rotor flight, and these boots are my first departure from Danners for my uniform. I wear Builder pros at home and in my woodshop, so I am familiar with Nicks quality. These boots are almost perfect. The quality is there, and is everything I’d expect; the problem is in the design. I assumed the side zip would allow easy donning and doffing without lacing (as in the case with most zipped uniform boots). Not so. In fact, these boots are very difficult to get in and out of even when unzipped and unlaced, so the design actually prolongs my response times. I hoped this would improve with break-in, but it hasn’t. And the zippers slide down and open up with normal wear. A major disappointment. But with the financial investment that a pair of Nicks is, I don’t see a choice but to live with it.
