First Five Miles

Day one with a stock pair of Backcountry’s saw five miles at Bald Rock Heritage Preserve in the Appalachian Mountains of South Carolina. I hike for a living leading groups of all ages from the mountains to the coast as our agency’s State Naturalist. Could not be more pleased with the heritage and fit of this boot. Not my first pair of Russell boots, as I have five turkey seasons underneath a pair of 16” Turkey Hunters. The highest quality from top to bottom. Rob from RMC demonstrated the best communication and customer service I could have hoped for. He assisted with size and use over many emails back and forth. Don’t hesitate on the stock boots. Mine arrived within five days of ordering and the quality is remarkable. Now my only request…bring back the Turkey Hunters!

I returned the boots

I used your sizing app and ordered the recommended size. They are too short so I returned them and as you don't have the next size available it basically cost be $40 to try on your boots. In the world today this is just not a good practice when so many other places that are online businesses such as this will offer free returns. The boots were too short and then the eyestays nearly touch when you lace up the boots, so I am not sure that the next size up would do me much good anyway. They do seem to be well made and I like the look of them. Sorry that it didn't work out.

Amazing boots

Just received my back country boots. They’re amazing. Super comfortable. I wear 9.5 regular on all my shoes, I ordered size 9D and they fit perfect. Well worth the price. I love that such fine craftsmanship is still being done in America and I will always support companies that go above and beyond everyone else.
