Another compressor but a nice one!
Not that I needed another compressor, but I decided to try it and got it cheap. The GUI is lovely, low cpu, sounds nice. I think I will find plenty of use for this.

Transparent Glue That Just Works
Picked this up in a sale and it's quickly become one of my go-to bus compressors. The SSL X-Comp brings that classic SSL bus glue in a clean, low-latency plugin that integrates perfectly into my DAW. Whether I'm using it on a mix bus, drum bus, or even on individual stems, it tightens everything up without killing the dynamics or colouring the sound in an unwanted way. The auto gain compensation keeps levels consistent while I dial in settings, which is a real time-saver during sessions. The transparent character is ideal for adding cohesion without masking the subtle detail in a mix. Excellent value, especially at sale price.

My impression is that it’s neither good nor bad.
In Japan, I occasionally come across people who seem to be overrated—perhaps because of the prestige of the “SSL” brand name associated with large mixing consoles—but personally, I find myself wondering, “Is it really that good?” t’s not bad. However, if you ask me whether it’s really necessary, I’d say not really. I bought it this time because the total came to $9 with the sale price and an additional discount. Although the yen has fallen significantly in Japan, it was 1,500 yen, so I figured, “It can't hurt to have it as an option.” In any case, I don’t think beginners need to go out of their way to buy one, but if you’re looking to learn more or if the compressor included with your DAW isn’t up to par, I think it’s worth the investment at around $10.
