Sure there are free ones, but ..
I appreciate PSP as a company and before throwing money at Waves for something that does less and costs you more in the end or freeware, that isn't well supported and might get abandoned or paid for with your personal information .. this is the one for me.

Simple and elegant.
This VU is easy on the eyes with a smooth, natural, and responsive GUI. It’s my go to for Dialogue premixes in post audio.
