Your gel choice is one of the most consequential decisions in your fueling plan, and most athletes make it by accident. They grab something at a race expo, it works once, and they never question it again. The problem is your gut doesn't lie — and finding out your gel isn't working mid-effort is the worst possible time to run the experim

My introduction to gels!
I ran my longest race this past weekend and looked into gels and this website as advised by a friend. I didn't want caffeine, so I haven't tried that yet, but my favorite was the Maurten gel 100 - easy to open while running, good consistency that made it easy to consume in small amounts without making a mess, and very easy on my stomach. To be honest, my stomach tolerated all the gels I tried in this pack. My least favorite was the Amacx drink gel - difficult to open, I didn't like the taste, and I got it all over me! The Pillar energy gel 30 was my second favorite - but I give it lower rank because the consistency was a little thinner than the Maurten. I bought additional Maurten gel 100 for my long run.

Great for gel starters
Trying to get into gels (personally not a fan and I prefer chews or waffles), but this was great to try a variety of flavors and brands!

My first experience with gels
It was great to receive the Tour de Feed Gel Pack as an introduction, allowing me to try different gels for my endurance martial arts training. So far I've only tried the edge gel, which gave me good energy through a difficult hour's training session. I'm looking forward to try the rest of the gels in the coming weeks. If you are new to gels, the Tour de Feed Gel Pack comes in a carry bag that handily re- closes. The shipping is in a substantial 'Feed' specialty box that protects the gels well. I recommend the Tour De Feed for an introduction to all gels can do for you.
