This is a well made reel with no play on the spool & tight tolerances so no chance of fine lines & leaders getting jammed between spool & frame. The drag is incredibly smooth & covers a great range of settings, pus the drag knob is nice & large. Spool change is incredibly easy & the concept of being able to buy lines plus backing preloaded on spools is very clever & convenient, (no knots or messing about). For the Stillwater flyfisher this has to be one of the best reels available with the easily interchangeable cassettes. The only reason I’ve only given 4*s rather than 5 is that it isn’t the lightest of reels & virtually all of my fishing is done with 1 & 2 weight lines & personally I love semi-automatic reels for such light-line fishing.

So far so good!

Used the reel for the first time and really like how it feels! I’d certainly recommend the reel for its ease of use, especially with the new Kevlar lines, which also perform well.

Lock Reels

It looks really good I like the clutch easy to use and the way I can change the spools. I have shown it to a few friends and they are impressed with the reel and system. If I have one criticism it appears to be a little heavy but I cannot really comment on this untill I have been fishing with it.
