Spring Trousers PDF Pattern

Beautiful trousers

This was the first pattern I tried after many years of not sewing anything. I made them from a lovely, flowy viscose/linen mix. I’m particularly thrilled with the fly binding details. They were a reasonably straightforward make, and I love the finished trousers!

Excellent trousers

I'm a confident beginner, and like to challenge myself with something out of my comfort zone sometimes. This was the perfect pattern for my first zip-fly pair of trousers. Yes, I did get confused at a point, but I found a step-by-step photo guide on this website for the zip-fly and it was super helpful to get it perfect. I love the overall construction of the trousers, and the details of the pattern. The fit ended up just perfect (probably also helped by the elastic in the back ;) ). I've used a linen fabric, and the trousers are fabulously flowy and airy, I can imagine wearing them all spring and summer. Will deffo make again, and can't wait to experiment with the fabric weight and style. Total recommend.

I've learned a lot

This pattern produces a beautifully finished garment and I have really learned a lot of fantastic techniques. However unfortunately the style of the finished garment didn't suit me. I measured carefully but the garment had way more room over the hip than I expected and more fabric in the leg width than I expected even for a wide leg trousers style. I think it would maybe suit a taller person better. I am 5 feet and 5 inches. I think for me I would prefer a version without the front pleats and a wide but more tapered leg style. I ended up removing some width from the side seams of the finished garment to make it more useable for me, but this did mean I lost the nice top stitching on the outer leg seams.
