I own several Glomar Explorers but the last couple have had very abrasive stitching near the buckle that I needed to hit with a lighter to wear down to be comfortable against my wrist. When I’m paying as much for this strap as I am for a carbine sling, I expect better QC. That said, it’s still a great strap with no real competitor (in my opinion). I’m sure I’ll pick up more in the future.

The quality seems good, and the strap is solid. The tan color is not exactly what I expected, but that’s not a dealbreaker since tan shades vary dramatically. I do wish it was a little more desert tan colored than the oranges hue it seems to have. But beside that, the retention band is so tight that I can’t slide it over the doubled strap. It is meant to slide over the strap after velcroed down to keep it from coming undone, but it is near impossible to do that even when the watch is off my wrist. When it is on and I need to make adjustments, forget about it. It makes a very practical tool design completely unusable. Concept is good. Execution is poor, at least with the small retention band which is a small but critical component.

As a tradesman, also with a passion for timepieces, I approve this strap. The “use your tools” etched in the back of the hardware is the icing on the cake. With some adjustment and sweat the strap has settled in quite nicely on my wrist.
