Back Saver

I was having chronic lower back pain and tried a lot of things to help it, until I realized my old memory foam mattress was sagging in the middle like a valley. I started my new mattress search immediately, first online to get an idea of the options, then in store to get a feel for what felt good. The hybrid latex felt best to me, as I like a more firmer feel, and also seemed to have the best overall longevity in a mattress. It was easy to narrow down all the many mattresses out there by focusing on organic and vegan materials. For me, I knew I didn't want to sleep on toxic materials or lining that was stolen from an animal. Bear mattresses weren't available in a store near me, but I tried a similarly crafted mattress by a "vegetable-named" competitor. I likely would have bought their mattress since it felt great, but they were out of stock for the vegan version. So I gave Bear Natural a try and am so glad I did, as the Bear mattress felt even better than that other mattress I liked in the store. The Bear mattress has similar firmness to that other mattress, but is a little more cushiony on top, giving me a great sleep, and it has a little extra bounce to it, which is great for other uses of the bed when you're not sleeping! My back has never felt better and I'm getting a great night's sleep. Highly recommend for vegans looking for a new mattress who are side and/or back sleepers.

Super firm & wake sore

This is a very firm bed that has a trampoline-like feeling from the springs - they don’t feel particularly supportive in a contouring way. Plus we did more research and found there’s only 1” of latex in the bed. It feels good at first but when you lay on it a while there’s no give if you are a side sleeper - it’s just laying on firm coils. We both wake very sore. I might recommend for back sleepers but not side sleepers. It is overall nicely made so I give a couple stars for that and for Bear’s good return policy. We will be returning.
