Dark Sumatra Mandheling

A very smooth coffee that stands up well to milk or cream

I have been buying the 5lb bag of Dark Sumatra Mandheling as whole beans for over 8 years. It has never disappointed me. I grind the beans just before I brew, typically I make a pot drip style but every once in a while (typically when travelling) I will use a french press or pour over. In those cases I grind the coffee before leaving and store it in a sealed plastic bag. I like that it is not very acidic as I tend to drink coffee all day long. I use a baratza ESP grinder and I don't have a lot of problems with oily residue, and often go 4 to 6 months before cleaning.

One of our overnight guests, visiting on the way home from a 2 week road trip, proclaimed it the best cup of coffee he'd had on the whole trip!
