Added height improves wind readings
The universal mount adds another 12 - 16 inches of height, compared to the low-profile mount that came in the box with the Tempest Station. The top of the Tempest station is now the same height as the top of my neighbor's 7-foot high privacy fence. Wind readings will be more accurate.

Universal Mount
Just moved my Tempest weather station from a self-made mounting to the new universal mount and I’m kicking myself for waiting almost 2 years to purchase this product in Mount my Tempest on it. The mounting of the Tempest universal mount was very easy to do and easy to mount the weather station on top and make adjustments to the weather station for a north axis. I would highly recommend spending the $50 for the universal amount. It makes it so much easier.
