Making me a better parent

With an almost-four-year-old and an eight-month-old my life can be very noisy. By the end of the day I often feel overwhelmed and find myself snapping. I ordered these as an experiment and they are helping so much. The best way I can describe the feeling is as though, instead of the noise going right through me, there is always a little quiet core inside that remains undisturbed and calm, however shrill my environment is. Being able to retreat to this means that my children are definitely benefitting from fewer pre-bedtime, final-straw explosions of exasperation from me. I have small ears so bought the mini size and they are comfortable enough to wear all day, and much as my eight-month-old has tried, she has not managed to remove them yet!

Quality of Life

This is my second pair of Flair Calmer earplugs and I couldn’t function comfortably without them. I’m sensitive to sounds and these earplugs dampen certain frequencies while still being able to hear what I need to hear clearly (I’ve tried other brands and I’m not able to hear as well out of them). This time I also added on the filters and they made things even better! Highly recommend!

More practice, or just too little difference?

Normal size doesn't quite work with my ears, small doesn't fully either. Pushing either in without the additional filters requires more practice than I've had yet. Filters give you "trapped in head"-voice while not taking that much "sound edge" off. Maybe they get better with practice, maybe I'm just too noise sensitive to profit from them.
