4Runner 5th Gen Hatch Window Vent

Love the concept and build. The weave on the screens seem tight enough to keep out bugs…we shall see! I would have loved to see some way to block off the airflow so when we encounter dusty areas the dust does not get inside the vehicle. I think the side windows have this feature. At least provide some 2 1/2” circles of plastic that was used to make the item and glue them to a matching piece to be able to Velcro to it and plug the holes? I will be playing around with this by going to my local Tapp Plastics to see if anything matches. Can you provide some scraps to play with? I am also thinking of creating an attachment with some 60mm slim and quiet computer fans with a rheostat and reverse on/off switch to mount to the vents and force airflow in or out to minimize heat and humidity buildup inside the vehicle. Have you all ever planned for this?

Boosted the look and use of my 5th Gen 4Runner

Ordering and delivery were both fast and easy. The product was packed properly with no damage in shipping. I've had my Hatch Window Vent for 4 months and have used it several times. It is easy to install and gives plenty of ventilation. I have camped on beaches with light rain and constant wind and it performed perfectly. It is also aesthetically pleasing, and I have had people stop and ask about it. I am saving up to purchase the rear side window vents.

Flawless installation and has a perfectly blended 4Runner look. I went black with black rivets and black wire mesh. Took all of 10 minutes max being careful rolling window up while guiding the vent. Fits perfectly, like it came from the factory. What a great addition for ventilation and air circulation for any pets you are hauling around. Couple of quick recommendations; go with the mesh to prevent bugs from entering and remove in heavy wet weather and during vehicle washing. Awesome engineering! Thanks
