As promised by Fr. Mark-Mary Ames during his most recent appearance on the Pints with Aquinas pod, this was a quietly incredible read. Less biography and more handbook for how to imitate Christ using the magnanimous example of St. Francis. I read this over the course of about three hours and it will resonate forever in my heart. What a simple and lovely work. It’s out of print, so grab a copy while you can.
