Test Roasts

Obviously, by their nature, these bags will have varying taste notes but, I enjoy this coffee for my espressos (for milky drinks) and at this price for a massive bag, represents good value. I like the fact I am reducing potential waste too.

We requested beans suitable for espresso when available, and we are happy with what we received. It is a good full bodied medium roast, as we like it, it does not have a complex finish, but it is good coffee. It was a bit of a gamble, but it is all good.

Honestly I’m sorry I’m rating this 2*, I know this is a test roast batch but at £22 for a kilo it’s still money - I found this particular batch to have a carbonic flavour that I haven’t managed to get rid of, so the whole bag really seems undrinkable. Really sorry if I’ve been silly but I did expect the coffee to taste “okay”, even if a bit dull/sour/bitter. Is there anyway you guys could give more details about why something is being sold as a test batch would make it easier to know what you’re getting.
