Ephemera and English Major should switch names!
On me English Major is more atmospheric, like wet leaves and marshmallow. Ephemera actually smells like a notebook and ink pen. It's gorgeous and unexpected. Smells like I'm sitting against a tree, wrapped in a scarf, on a cool day writing in a journal, ink on my fingers from the pen. I don't personally get a lot of pumpkin, I get the notebook paper, acorns, and vanilla! The soil note adds a depth without smelling like dirt. It's not heavy but has great longevity. Deducted a star for the lack of pumpkin since I expected a brown sugar pumpkin scent and smell something totally different, but honestly it is a more original fall scent without it!

This appeals to the side of me that likes a fragrance that rings familiar yet possesses something a bit out of the ordinary.
There is a definite cozy and somewhat autumnal quality here and I’m guessing the out of the ordinary is the “notebook paper”. I can’t quite sense black soil though.
Perhaps a pumpkin brûlée with brown sugar. It leans gourmand but just slightly. It has a richness.
All in all I’m glad I acquired a travel size.

A really beautiful creamy pumpkin. I do get that hint of soil but it's not overwhelming, and it actually pairs well with the sweet notes.
