The accuracy of the seagulls is amazing and the quality of the product is excellent. To protect them during shipping, which is understandable, they arrive on sprues. Being a mere mortal, I had difficulty separating the gulls from the sprues. The gull legs are so tiny and fragile and the adjoining sprues so close together that it was difficult to separate without breaking the legs. Mind you, I used an ultrasonic knife and wore optical glasses to get in as carefully as I could. Sometimes I could get down to one sprue but the gull would fall over as the weight of the body exceeded the strength of the legs thereby breaking the legs. Sometimes the sprues were fused together making a precision cut difficult for my level of skill. All in all, I lost the legs on a dozen attempts no matter what sequence I used for cutting the sprues. Undaunted, I put those gulls in grass. A person with greater talent than mine would not likely have difficulty.

Seagulls at the herring run
I bought the seagulls painted for the Stony Brook Grist Mill scene on the Cape & Islands Model Railroad Club.
