This is my 2nd W1 - not because there's a problem with the 1st, but to make sure one is always to hand. Once you find a comfortable way to manipulate the paper filter into place without poking a hole in it, the brewing becomes more and more enjoyable. I use Melitta 1 x 4 papers as it gives more to work with and make sure there's a bit of slack around the pointy bit. A bit of origami while the kettle boils is all part of the enjoyment. Whatever pouring technique you use, the flavour extraction is impressive. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the metal ring, but I do now have two napkin rings...

The W1 Filter is very effective with slow filtering for an excellent cup of coffee.

I really wish it was a bit less fragile

It’s an amazing filter – makes great coffee. But the cone is very fragile, and I keep breaking it. Whenever I go camping or travel, I always come back with a crack. I really wish it was a bit stronger. On the other hand, there is a ten-year warranty and ROK send a replacement not question asked.
