I have a 22-week-old dachshund who weighs just under 10 lbs. I couldn’t decide whether she needed the XXS or XS, so I purchased both sizes to compare.
After trying them on, the XXS is definitely the best fit for her right now. I have it extended to its maximum size, and it fits her comfortably. The XS, even when shortened/tightened as much as possible, was still too large around her torso.
I’m glad I purchased both, though, because I think the XS will likely fit her in a few months as she continues to grow.
The harness itself seems very well made, and I’m happy with the fit and quality. I’m looking forward to using it! Hopefully, these sizing details are helpful for anyone else trying to choose between the XXS and XS for a small dachshund.

Great harness
It’s great quality, and the hot pink color is so cute! I only gave it 4 stars because I got the size XXS, and it was way too big. I was able to easily exchange for their new version of the XXS, and it fits much better. The exchange process was very easy. Glad they expanded their size range.

Finally a harness that works!
My dog is part Jack Russell, chihuahua, and doxie. She is built like a dachshund. She pulls like a husky sled dog!! She strangled herself all the time. She pulls out of every harness we have tried. Not Doxie! Works fantastic. Her little legs and strong chest made it impossible to use other harnesses. We are very happy with the doxie harness. Great customer service as we had a glitch in delivery. They took care of the issue.
