Fast, Difficult & Fun
Very fast-paced platformer with a Portal-esque atmosphere. Loved the whole game, except for one level that was extremely frustrating for me. I wonder if anyone can beat the whole game without dying even once.

Platform Perfection
What can I say about this game that people haven’t said before? The narrative is fun and more thought provoking than most platformers, but my god. The gameplay is just… perfection. I’m not typically someone who loves super difficult platformers because I’m not great at them, but Self-Simulated does such a great job of slowly teaching you more and more skills until all of a sudden you find yourself perfectly executing complex movement combos. I love how the developed added in the ability to make it a little easier when you get really stuck, but doesn’t lord it over you like some do. The art design is beautiful and everything is well done in terms of conveying the momentum you carry through the levels. Just a masterclass of how to make a platformer.

Fun and Engaging
Self Simulated is fun and engaging. The controls are tight and suited to the Chromatic form factor, and it perfectly captures that classic Game Boy Color feel with a contemporary polish. 100+ levels packed with enemies and traps that kept me hooked despite the frustration. The assist options like triple jump and auto-stomp are a neat touch. ModRetro and 2nd Law Games really nailed it — nostalgic yet fresh. 9/10, highly recommended.
