AF Maxim Pro Mod Kit

Gives us exactly what we asked for, but we should've asked for something better...

My disappointment with this mod kit has absolutely nothing to with the quality of its make, its performance, or its ability to deliver on my expectations. I was one of the many people who were under the collective delusion that this already-accurate, well-performing, great-for-the-money blaster was somehow going to be the first flywheeler to benefit from a SCAR barrel, and that the inability to use the DZ SCAR and BCAR was a glaring omission. XFOX gave us the option to use both, along with some other options. Once I used them, I realized why DZ didn't bother in the first place. Did it look cool? Sure. But unless I was running a 3s LiPo, my darts weren't leaving the SCAR most of the time. If the Maxim Pro ends up being the "new Stryfe," and by that I mean, "inexpensive entry-level pro flywheeler that is easy to mod that becomes the hobby standard," I'd like to see this mod kit expand. I really think the interchangeable barrel idea is smart, and since it's not directly tied to performance, XFOX could release more aesthetically-driven barrels and nose kits. There might be future demand for an XXL battery door as modders put high-performance cages into the blasters, but that depends on the staying power of the platform as a whole. All in all, I think think this is a solid offering once you look past it having to cater to the demands to dummies like myself.
