Works and easy to use, but it seems like fully 50% of the pixels are wasted on regions of the image that are not accessible to the lens. At first I thought there was an issue with the camera, but nope. The lens field of view is accurate. There's just a giant circle around the image that registers as hot.
It's like putting a fish eye lens at the end of a toilet paper tube and then looking through it. Yea you get great access to everything beyond the lens, but you're not going to use this device for anything.
I can probably code something that zooms-into the usabe portion of the image, but then more than 50% of the full-image resolution just vanishes (even more is gone since we have to convert a circle into a square).
This was a good experiment though, and it confirms my suspicion that one should never order a camera that doesn't display a sample image... and yes, it was cheap as far as thermal cameras go, but I did expect a little more from a US-based company.
Since buying this camera, the company was sold to someone else, but the camera is still for sale.

wonderful packaging
all the packaging is wonderful, and the sensors seem cool (and small). Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for the adapter to use it in my OpenMV boards.
