British to the Core
It wasn't so much a want, more of a need for a truly waterproof jacket, one that wouldn't look out of place in rural Lincolnshire. Not quite the Brecon Beacons but cold and wet nevertheless. I have lost count of the number of supposedly fully waterproof jackets I've purchased and at what cost and was beginning to think that no such thing existed. Purely by chance I stumbled across Lockwood and boy, what a find.
Buying British is very important to me and also contributing to our economy. Just as important as investing in quality products is people, something that is very much at the forefront of what Lockwood are about.
When knowing Jacobs background it's obvious as to why he has developed a range of products such as he has and why he runs his business in such a professional manner.
So, after a chat with Jacob I ordered a Brecon Smock and it was delivered a day later, true to his word, no less than I had expected. Having read many of the reviews I'd expected a bulky delivery, a smart presentation box, lined with fancy tissue, a suit bag, a slate drinks coaster and a posh wooden hanger. No, none of this, merely neatly folded in a grey bag but with a personal handwritten message from Jacob himself thanking me for choosing him.
Now, that's not a negative, on the contrary if it was hanging on a wooden hanger it wouldn't be earning its keep and I would have failed once again. The quality is undeniably first class, the fit is perfect and frankly the choice of materials is spot-on. Waterproof - yes, windproof - yes, plenty of storage - yes, looks great - yes.
Can I recommend, oh yes, without any pause for thought.
Jason, thank you for rising above what society has come to accept and for serving us once again, this time with extremely high quality British products that we can all be proud to wear.
Jacob, I salute you :)
