A Great Framework for Someone New to Contingency Planning

I’m relatively new to formalized contingency planning, and one of the things I’ve appreciated most about the M.A.D. Gear Contingency Planner is that it provides both a framework for building a plan and an explanation of the different components and angles that should be considered. Rather than simply telling you what information to document, the planner has helped me think through questions I probably would not have known to ask on my own. That has been incredibly valuable as I work toward developing a comprehensive, practical set of plans for situations where things may go sideways. I haven’t fully built out the plan set I’m aiming for yet, but that’s really part of the process. Working through the physical planner and mobile application has helped identify areas where I need to do some real-world homework, have conversations, make decisions, and better articulate how I would actually respond to different situations. My next step is to continue incorporating best practices and get some hands-on training experience under my belt so that what I put on paper is backed by practical knowledge and skills. For someone relatively new to contingency planning, I’ve found M.A.D. Gear to be a great starting point and an approachable way to begin taking preparedness more seriously. Thanks to Sam and M.A.D.
