1P Cirriform DW

I recently picked up the Yama Mountain Gear 1DW tent and took it out for a quick overnight in the Oregon mountains—and it absolutely delivered. Setup was fast and intuitive, which is always a huge plus after a long day on the trail. Despite its compact footprint, the interior felt surprisingly spacious. The design strikes a great balance between minimalism and livability. Even in exposed conditions, the tent held up impressively well against the wind, giving me confidence in its durability. One of the standout moments was sleeping with the side open—ventilation was excellent, and the views were far better than I expected from a shelter in this category. It really enhances the whole backcountry experience. Even though I’ve only spent one night in it so far, I already trust this tent to perform in a wide range of conditions. It checks every box I look for in a tarp-style shelter: lightweight, efficient, and thoughtfully designed. And as a bonus, after my purchase, the team at Yama proactively reached out to refund me when the price dropped. That level of customer care says a lot about the company. Overall: 5 stars, no question. Huge thanks to Gen and the entire team—this one’s a winner.

This is my 1st tarp; the setup instructions are great, and it’s very easy to set up. I appreciate all of the different setup options, very flexible!

I'm 6'6" and the inner with a length of 88" still fits. Glad I could find an ultralight shelter solution that works for my height.
