Peppered Wheat

I love Peppered Wheat. It has become my favorite throwing clay. My only wish is that it were a little less wet. It comes so wet that I frequenlty can center it without any water. However, once I wet my hands to decrease friction, it can sometime add more than ideal. I've started sitting the clay on a plaster slab for about 30 minutes before throwing to pull out most of the excess water. But honestly, I can't recomment it highly enough

Nice clay body to work with. I bisque to cone 010 and fire to cone 5. Has the effect of a reduction clay body with the iron specks. I also use the same body in my primitive pit firing which has held up extremely well-
