Hopeful but frustrated
We are still struggling to get the pilldrill to work. We both have the app on our phones but aren't getting any notifications. My daughter is home for Christmas break and brought the pilldrill home with her, but it won't connect to our wifi. I really want this to work, but it's very frustrating and disappointing so far.

Suggestions to Enhance Hub Features
1) On the hub, an improperly scanned medication container results in the same audio acknowledgment as a correctly scanned container. A much different sound for an improperly or non-scheduled scan is suggested as it may more effectively alert the user to the issue.
2) Similarly, the user should look at the hub screen to differentiate between a correct and incorrect scan. I’d suggest a markedly different visual acknowledgement if the scanned container isn’t screened as ‘OK’.

With just a few more tweaks
The Pill Drill is probably the best reminder I’ve seen yet. It’s a big help for the caregiver, and that’s very important, though a dementia patient isn’t likely to remember to scan their meds.
However, the unit seems to need to be online and, while the world may largely be online, one might be surprised just how many folks still aren’t. Our patient can’t use it for that reason alone, even as just a timed reminder, because the unit won’t function unless it’s connected to the Internet; it doesn’t even leave the connect screen. So if you were hoping to use only the alarm or light-up reminder (which so many reminders are missing), it’s a no-go.
With a few tweaks, this could be useful for almost anyone, but right now, some patients are left out because of the requirement to be online to even use the simplest of its functions.
