They are great. I had the lesser expensivewire wrapped rubber ones and they broke. Now I will say they were hand me downs and likely had sat in a drawer for quite a few years so the rubber may have been dried out. That is what pushed me to the chains and these seem much sturdier. We have gard snow with an icy.rust right now so our daily trails walks require something to help with traction and these do the trick

I have been wearing the chains traction device for years and finally wore them out. I love them in the winters here in the Colorado Mountains. I can walk anywhere! I got my husband a pair, too, and he really appreciates them as well.

These really do work and although expensive it is worth buying. I have worn these for a week now and have not slipped once. Without wearing these on my boots even though there's traction I would still slip and have to balance myself so that I would not fall. Since putting these on my boots I no longer experience slipping. These are great for walking the dog or having to walk down to the mailbox. I will say that they are at first a little hard to put on your boots, but once you know how to put them on and take them off it's easy. I would definitely recommend. It's a great investment. Especially for your safety.
