Amazing Packability, Mixed Performance in Real Use

The size and folding design of the Matador Pocket Blanket is genuinely genius. It packs down incredibly small, and once you’ve folded it a couple of times, it’s fast and intuitive to put away. From a portability standpoint, it’s hard to beat. Where it falls short is in actual ground use. If you’re planning to use it at the beach to keep sand off your gear, or directly on the ground for sitting or lounging, it’s just too thin to be truly effective. Sand still makes its way through, and it doesn’t provide much of a barrier or comfort on rough surfaces. That said, the idea behind the product is excellent. Because of how compact it is, it’s something I’ll always bring when I travel. It doesn’t take up space, weighs almost nothing, and is easy to justify throwing in a bag — even if it’s not the perfect solution for every surface.
